I hope everyone in ThamesMogLand and beyond had a very happy Christmas. On the first Thursday evening in November we welcomed Ray Styles back to the Centre. The last time Ray was at the Bird In Hand it was 1971 - I must have been out! Ray is currently nearing the completion of a ground-up rebuild of a competition 4/4. I look forward to seeing the finished car soon Ray. At our November Sunday Noggin we welcomed Geoff Giles to the Centre - I hope you can join us again soon Geoff. In the latest edition of the Thames Valley Centre Newsletter (TVCN) Chris Rowe goes Back to the Future, while Pat and Alec Sanders describe a recent Morgan touring holiday in France. Subscription details are available from myself (Centre Secretary). To start the year off on a fresh note we shall be going for another walk, this time though in the North Downs, please meet in the car park at the picnic area at the foot of Box Hill, near Burford Bridge Hotel on the A24 Leatherhead - Dorking road, at 10:30 am. The walk will be about 4 miles long, we shall be back in time for lunch at the Burford Bridge Hotel. The new Thames Valley Car badge is now ready to go into production. To ease the cash flow to the Centre we would like to now collect the balance on all the ordered badges. The costings including package and posting are listed below. Please send the balance owed to Jim Bellew as soon as possible. All cheques should be made out to Morgan Sports Car Club TV Centre. One innovation of the new design is that the colour of the car can be specified, including most colours of the rainbow - red, green, blue, white, black, etc. Hence, when contacting Jim please let him know which colour car you would like - almost as bad as specifying a new car at the factory! The Annual Centre Dinner will be held on 6th Marchat the Riveria hotel in Maidenhead. Please contact Mike Aldrich for tickets. Space is limited so please contact Mike as soon as possible - tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A concession is available for anyone attending the Dinner that may want to stay over at the hotel. The Riveria is very nicely placed alongside the Thames at Maidenhead. We should be in for a very enjoyable evening. And finally may I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 1999. |
