As a Centre we have some close links with the
U.S. in the area hit by recent tragic events. Many of our members go over
there on a regular basis. As far as I am aware all our family, friends,
colleagues and contacts in this region are safe and well. On behalf of the
Centre I would like to offer our deepest condolences at this very sad and
worrying time.
We
now know that Joe DeLuca, a past president of the Morgan ¾ Group went down on
Flight 93. The brave passengers of this flight very likely saved thousands of
lives. I never met Joe but I understand that in recent years he had found
personal happiness with a new partner. They were together on that fatal
flight. This of course just makes the whole thing even more tragic. There is a
move to give everyone on Flight 93 the Congressional Medal of Freedom, I
sincerely hope this will be so.
I
recently received an email message from Jim Bellew highlighting how we now
seem to live our stressful lives. The message was to treat everyday as being
special. I agree with Jim
totally, at least Joe found a little happiness.
