The first Thursday at the Bird In Hand was quite quiet, I guess being so close
to New Year’s Day everyone still had a hang over! A few Morgans made it to
the Phoenix on New Year’s Day in spite of the inclement weather. Fortunately
the conditions were a little better for our noggin at the Queens Oak.
This
month we have an update of our Morgan event at Brooklands and we have another
walking trip this time in the Berkshire countryside.

place as soon as you can, via email at mwraldrich1@aol.com,

Once
again, this month we have the third of our monthly walks exploring some more
of our lovely countryside.
Stratfield Saye
Sunday 23rd March 2003
Our walk this month takes
in a network of quiet country lanes and a fairly lengthy stretch of the
Devil’s Highway! We shall pass Stratfield Saye House, home of the Dukes of
Wellington. The walk will be about five miles in length.
We shall meet at the New
Inn at 10:30 am. We shall have lunch en route at the Four Horseshoes on the
last lap of the walk. Those that are interested can make a visit to Stratfield
Saye House – a splendid great house to visit.
Coming from reading take
the A33 Basingstoke road. Passing the Wellington Monument turn right by the
Wellington Arms hotel signposted Stratfield Saye. After a mile take a turning
left to Stratfield Saye. There is sufficient space to park in the vicinity of
the Post Office. I hope to see you there.]
