I
am very pleased to be able to announce that on the evening of Saturday 23rd
July, Pam and Mike Aldrich will be holding our Annual Centre dinner at the
Grovefield House Hotel, Burnham. Please contact Pam and Mike if you would like
to attend, menus for the evening should be available very soon. The hotel has
some lovely grounds to enjoy before the dinner, on what should be hopefully, a
warm summer's evening. I would like to thank Pam and Mike for organising this
lovely night for us.
On
the Sunday evening of our New Forest bank holiday weekend, we have organised a
rather special buffet/dinner at a very pleasant hotel near to our base in the
New Forest. Please contact Ann Miller if you would like to join us for what
will be a very enjoyable evening. Those
of you that have already booked for the weekend you should have by now received
your information pack, bookings for our weekend - with a discounted visit to
Beaulieu - are still coming in thick and fast. Please contact Ann or Brian
Miller as soon as you can if you would like to go on this trip, the first batch
of Beaulieu tickets have almost all been sold. Thanks again are due to Ann,
Brian and Heidi for getting this exciting weekend together.
Don'
forget we have the tremendous Fawley Steam Day coming up next month. On the day
it will be Terry Tedman’s birthday, which will make it a perfect day for
Terry. Please note that Terry doesn’t have many tickets left, so if you
don’t want to be disappointed please contact Terry as soon as possible, thank
you again Terry for organising this very special day for us.
Please
remember our scenic run and barbeque being held on 3rd July with all proceeds
going to Marie Curie Cancer Care. It should be a very special day,
please give it your support if you can - thank you.
This
month our walk in the Chilterns takes us to Hawridge.
A
Walk from Hawridge
Sunday
22nd May 2005
We
shall meet at the car park for the Rose and Crown public house at 10.30 am. The
pub is on a quiet road three miles north of Chesham. The approach from Chesham
is via Berkhamsted Road and Vale Road. The
walk is three and a half miles in length, this is an easy walk taking in lovely
semi-wooded commons along with one of the most beautiful valleys in the
Chilterns. All our pubs to date on our walks have been very good, with great
food and drink. If you just want to join us for a noggin we should be back
about 13:00 for lunch. I hope to see you there.
Take care & see you all soon
