I hope everyone had a very happy Christmas. It is at this time of year that families are together for the holiday season. And naturally it is a time when we remember our lost love ones and friends. Unhappily, just before Christmas, I was very sorry to learn that Dave Mason had passed away. Dave was well known by members in the Centre that have taken part in club sprints and hill climbs. Dave used to coordinate the Northern Championship and latterly the National championship, as well as the club sprint each year. Dave did an awful lot for Morgan Motor Sport, especially for the grass-roots competitor. He was not only supportive to us all but also a really good friend. He will be sadly missed. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to send our sincere condolences to Dave’s wife Marlene and family. To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die.
Please don’t forget on January 1st you have the opportunity to attend the classic car meeting at the Poacher and the Phoenix Pub. Both start in the morning and run over lunch time to mid afternoon. Please contact Andy Low if you are thinking of going and would like some more information. Both venues can be very busy, they will both be doing food to help you recover from the night before. Last year people tended to travel between the pubs to see the different cars on display. We shall congregate at our normal watering hole - The Poacher. * Please note that the normal Barley Mow noggin falls on New Year’s Day, so please go to the Poacher instead this month, if you had planned to go to the Barley Mow – thank you.
Alternatively, on New Year’s Day we have a rather spectacular walk with Sexmog and Hopmog on the beautiful South Downs to celebrate the start of 2006.
On Sunday 22nd January 2006 we have a Walk at Little Missenden. See our events Page for more details.
Take care, see you all soon and have a very happy New Year with good health
