While I was enjoying Richard Thorne’s hospitality at his annual Christmas Party, I had the pleasure of bumping into Jim Bellew and his wife Elizabeth. Last year at Richard’s annual festivities, I had met Jim and Elizabeth when they had recently gotten engaged. This year over the summer they were married and then they went on their honeymoon to Ireland in their Morgan of course. It’s amazing how many of us went to Ireland last summer. On behalf of the Centre I would like to congratulate Jim and Elizabeth very much indeed. It was good to see you looking so happy Jim! I hope you will both have many happy years together. Also, I hope you will be joining us for our return trip to Ireland this year. It would be wonderful if you could both come along with us. It should be great!

On the subject of celebrations, I would like to thank Richard Thorne and family along with their team, on behalf of the Centre, for their kind invitation to their Christmas Party for 2006 and all their hard work, giving us such a nice occasion to enjoy. This year Richard was celebrating twenty-five years of being a Morgan agent and a supplier of new cars. The last quarter of a century has been quite eventful for Richard, as you can probably imagine. Congratulations Richard - I hope the next twenty-five years will be as good! Helen Thorne is the next generation to work at Richard Thorne Classic Cars – I wish Helen well for the future also. It should be good!

Adrienne and Roger Prior have another visit to Welford Park that we enjoyed so much last February. A main attraction at this time of year is the Snowdrop Woods. On Sundays in February, Welford Park is open between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with the proceeds going to local charities. A gift shop is open along with a tea room that serves light lunches and homemade cakes. Dogs on leads are welcome but you are not allowed to picnic in the grounds – mind you, would you want to in February! Welford has a large car park that closes at 5:30 p.m. I hope to see you there.

On Sunday 25th February 2007 we shall visit the Snowdrop Woods of Welford Park. See our events page for details

Take care & see you all soon
