First off, I would like to make an important amendment to last month’s Centre report. Please note that the AGM will now be held on Saturday evening March 3rd at the Bird In Hand, Knowl Hill at 19:30 for 20:00. I hope this change will not inconvenience anyone. January 2012

Well, we are now finally in the year where we will see whether the predictions from the Maya Calendar come to pass or not. Whatever happens we will fit in one more visit to the Fawley Hill Railway, owned by the Hon Sir William McAlpine Bt. FRSE, and railway model collection in June 2012, which I am pleased about indeed.  Many thanks to Terry Tedman for all his hard work in getting us back to this special day out. It is amazing to think that we are now in December, with the end of the year fast approaching. Don’t forget that we are taking bookings for our two Christmas Dinners: please contact Contact: Andy Doughty (Sorry no contact details available) and Contact: Mike Aldrich, for the Harte and Magpie and Bird In Hand respectively. These celebrations are always popular so please make contact as soon as you can – bookings are being taken on a first come first served basis. November 2011

It is with great personal sadness that I report the passing of Bert Oslar. Bert and his late wife Shirley were long standing members of the MSCC with many friends in our Centre. Bert and Shirley were very friendly and approachable; they would enjoy welcoming new people to the Centre. Often it was said to me by new members that the first people they met were Bert and Shirley. Over the years they were enthusiastic attendees of our events wherever we ended up. They particularly enjoyed our trips across to France....
