Chatting to Jerry Tanner recently he mentioned a notion – “Bring a Morgan to a noggin.” Now Jerry always brings his Plus Eight to noggins, so his record is exemplary. However, he does wear a warming beard. Nevertheless, you can’t argue with his sentiments – we must all try harder and with the warmer months coming it should prove easier.

We do have a busy month ahead of us. Don’t forget that we have a day out with the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club at their facilities near Sonning. Please contact Richard Orton of the Yacht Club or myself if you would like to go. They would like to judge numbers and you pay on the day. I hope you will be able to join us. Richard can be contacted on telephone: 01189343132 or 07983721818. It should be great day out.

Also, please remember our trip to the Ace Café; we will be joining the Marcos club as part of their fiftieth anniversary celebrations that we have combined with our own one hundredth. Please let me know if you are coming – I want to make sure we out number the Marcos. It should be a special evening. I hope you can come.

Please note that for the summer months: June, July and August, the Frog and Wicket noggin will be held on the second Sunday, to avoid clashes with major events through the season. In September we shall go back to the first Sunday as normal, for this popular noggin venue. I hope this won’t inconvenience anyone.

With this in mind, I would like to draw your attention to June 14th, the second Sunday, one of our summer dates for the Frog and Wicket noggin. You know how it is, life seems to bumble along and then something happens. Well there will be some exciting, extraordinary, outrageous, breathtaking, interesting, take your pick, news on this day, at our noggin; to find out what it is we will have to be there – so I hope you can make it. Some may say it’s about time too, but who knows? I hope I will see you there!

Our next Centenary walk in Surrey this year will be in September, after all the summer Centenary celebrations and takes us to the Plough Inn in Dormansland. I hope to see you at the pub car park at 10:30am, hopefully with fine weather, with your walking boots on.

Take care, see you all soon - Roger.
