For those in the South, the twice-monthly classic car gathering at the White Lion Antiques centre has been a welcome Sunday morning habit, and the Thames Valley centre has made it its monthly breakfast club venue. It’s a very informal gathering, usually there are 100 - 200 classic, historic and just interesting cars, plus coffee and bacon rolls, and the antiques centre to visit.
At each Classic Car Breakfast meeting a different marque is highlighted and given prime display parking, and in October it was Morgan's turn. A couple of very keen Morgan owners arrived at 8 a.m., and wondered if they had arrived on the wrong day as there were few cars about, but by 9 a.m. the car park was full, and had overflowed into the adjacent field. Over 20 Morgans including Aeros, Trads, and M3Ws attended, which was twice the number expected, some owners having driven quite a distance to be there. The general consensus was that it was a grand way to spend a sunny Sunday morning, even if you did have to wrap-up warm for the drive there.
