I have to say what a great time we all had on our classic car tour. For some folk it was their first visit, for Liz Chif and myself our fourth, and I must say that the level of care from our hosts was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. After our visit in 2022, those of you who decided not to come again because you thought that the weather could never be that good again, must be kicking yourselves. JCB March 2024
On Monday 18th. March, the Thames Valley Centre visited The JCB Factory at Rocester near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.Seven members had booked the morning tour with lunch which started at 10 o’clock. Chris Nickless sensibly proposed we avoided the uncertainty of the M40 and M42 on a Monday morning by booking in to the local Premier Inn. This was taken up by all and we had a very convivial dinner on Sunday night followed by going through the card for the ‘Full English’ breakfast option in the morning. Llanerchindda Farm 2022
This was our second visit to this establishment and once again they provided a pair of excellent scenic runs and good food when we got back. Day one includes a castle visit for those that didn't just visit the cafe, an optional visit to the Usk reservoir and lunch at the Nation Park visitor centre returning via a petrol station for some much needed e5. 2020 has been a very strange year. As a result of the ongoing pandemic we have run very few events. In fact we are just starting to get going only to find that the rules are once again tightening. Fortunately the Welsh government kept their restrictions to groups of 30 outside and the Hotel arranged its dining facilities as well separated groups of 4 or 5 so we could remain safe and within the restrictions.
