We had a good turnout for a Father's day Noggin, 19 Morganiers (It would have been 21 but sadly Barry and Pauline Middleditch tested positive for `Covid a couple of days ago so they are self isolating ) Anyway 5 Morgans and some tin-tops graced the car park. Sadly our two new Morgan Plus six cars on the CX Platform chassis have been grounded by the factory as there is an issue with a possible leaking master break cylinder. One of the owners Paul and Jane Hudson did turn up but had to come in Paul’s McLaren instead of his Morgan !!!! Incidentally, does a McLaren really qualify as a Tin-top? (ed. I think it wins Tin-Top Top Trumps)
The weather was very kind to us after 30 plus degrees on Friday. We all sat outside to start with, then some went inside to eat as it was slightly chilly when the sun went in. But brightened up later.
There was much talk about flat batteries, faulty starter motors, In my case fitting a new coil on my 3 wheeler, the waiting list for a new Moto Lita steering wheel and of course trips to the Le Mans Classic at the end of the month. Not to be left out some of our ladies were discussing the finer points sewing, gardening and families in general, also some, I won't mention any names were heard to be Tut tutting about the cost of various bits and bobs we have buy to upgrade our Morgans.
But all in all a great noggin with good friends, much banter and lots of laughter plus good food. As Pop Larkin in the Darling Buds of May would say “Perfick"
