Every year, at the ThamesMOG’s AGM, trophies are awarded for various Morgan achievements. Such as the member who has driven the most miles in a Morgan during the year, or who has raised the most for charity through their Morgan activities.
The Spirit of Competition Salver, which is presented to the Centre member who has been the most inspirational in the spirit of competition during the year, has not been awarded since before COVID. For 2024, ThamesMOG was delighted to award the Salver to the father-and-son duo, Alan and Howard Clark. Throughout the year, Alan took part in the SpeedMog hill climb and sprint events, while Howard competed in the same vehicle in the Morgan Challenge races.
Alan and Howard couldn't attend the Centre’s AGM, so ThamesMOG decided it was appropriate to award the trophy at this year’s Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone, where Howard was taking part in the two Morgan Challenge races.
The photograph shows Howard and Alan being presented with the Salver by Steve Bridge on behalf of the ThamesMOG committee.
ThamesMOG would like to thank Brian and the Techniques team for hosting us at the after-race award ceremony.
