I am pleased to be able to report that Adrienne and Roger Prior have another visit planned to Welford Park that we enjoyed so much last February. A main attraction at this time of year is the Snowdrop Woods. Welford Park is open between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm with all proceeds going to local charities. A gift shop is open along with a tea room that serves light lunches and homemade cakes. Dogs on leads are welcome but you are not allowed to picnic in the grounds - mind you would you want to in February! Welford has a large car park that closes at 5:30 pm. I hope to see you there, all Centre associates are most welcome.

Please note from the above that the Snowdrop walk has been scheduled for 14th February, Valentine's Day, and that Robin and Yvette Henderson have very kindly offered to act as host at Hillside Farm, Stockcross approximately 15 minute drive from Welford Park. We shall meet there at 10:15 - 10:30 for coffee and biscuits before driving in convoy to the rear gate at Welford Park for 11:00.

Also, we plan to enjoy lunch this year at a different pub - The Rising Sun which is nearer the motorway access. As it will be St Valentine's Day the Landlord would appreciate advanced information of potential numbers so that he can make the appropriate arrangements for our visit, i.e. reserved dining area, possibly reserved parking if sufficient numbers but especially menu choices.

So if you are interested please let Adrienne and Roger know as soon as you can so that viability can be assessed and the necessary arrangements can be made - thank you. Adrienne and Roger will send details of how to get to Hillside Farm and menu when you have expressed your interest. I would like to thank Adrienne and Roger for once gain organising this special event.

Also, next month Jeff and Joyce Marshall are organising a walk of approximately five miles over a mostly flat surface, although it can get a little uneven in some places. The walk will starts from The Cock Inn passes Headley Church and also goes over part of Stane Street which is the Roman road which connected St Albans and Colchester. Jeff is calling the walk "Morganeers Mad March March"!! The pub landlady is very welcoming and happy to accommodate us.

See our events page for full details.

Take care, see you all soon
