I was sorry to learn that Kevin Newton was taken into hospital over the Christmas and New Year period. Kevin is back at home now resting after his operation. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to send our best wishes to Kevin for a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with Pam and Kevin at this time.
On a happier note we have news from Mike Aldrich as follows of a special 40th Anniversary Dinner to be held at our first Thursday noggin venue - the Bird In Hand. The other month I had half a pint of a guest beer there called Anastasia. This beer was fashioned in the best tradition of the Russian beers of old and was 8% proof. I am glad I only had half a pint. With this in mind, I suggest if you are coming to our dinner you find a driver or you stay the night.
40th Anniversary celebratory dinner for the MSCC Thames Valley Centre
We would like all members to please make a note in their diary for a special Anniversary in memory of the formation of the Morgan Sports Car Club Thames Valley Centre, some forty years old, to be held as a dinner on the 20th November 2010 at "the Bird In Hand", the original base in which the Centre was formed.
A three course meal has been booked with a free welcome punch drink offered on arrival, it is anticipated we will be inviting a couple of speakers well known to the Morgan fraternity, together with a live performer "The King" - Elvis Presley who will entertain us during the evening.
Accommodation at the hotel has been discounted for us at fifty pounds per person, per night, for those who want to take the opportunity of this offer should personally ring the Bird in Hand on 01628 826748 or fax 01628 826622, as there are a limited number of rooms, to avoid disappointment we advise you to book as soon as possible.

Last month I mentioned the enjoyable day we had at the Bracknell Town Classic Car Show, with all proceeds raised going to the Sebastian's Action Trust. Well the Trust were so pleased that Jim Tebby won the Richard Thorne Charity Trophy in 2009 for his endeavours on the day that they would like for him to be awarded the Trophy in their presence. Jim did know Sebastian during his illness. So very soon the Sebastian Trust will be awarding the Trophy to Jim at Richard Thorne Classic Cars. We hoping distinguished members of the local press will be there to provide the appropriate publicity. If you remember Jim was unable to attend the Poacher Christmas Dinner to receive his award. When we have a date we shall let you know, it will be a special occasion.
Another bit of good news is that we have a new Regalia Officer. This person is a glamorous mother of three and therefore is knowledgeable on the outfit front. I am pleased to say Ann Miller is our new Regalia Officer. Ann has already hit the ground running as she is currently, along with Jim Bellew, designing a logo for our 40th Anniversary. The new regalia should be available soon. Thank you Ann, you and your team have my best wishes.
