It has been suggested for some time now that we should make a change from the Rose & Crown Inn at Saunderton. Robert and Jennifer Watson have now retired and no longer own the Inn; hence we have felt a change of scene may now be appropriate. With this in mind Steve Pullin has proposed that we now go to his local at The Hampden Arms in Great Hampden, near Great Missenden, Bucks. The telephone number of the pub is 01494 488255. The Hampden Arms is set in the heart of the beautiful wooded Hampden Estate, dating in parts from 17thCentury, an attractive homely public house / restaurant serving excellent home cooked meals plus real ales. I believe the pub is near a cricket pitch for those interested. Steve assures us that Terry and Barbara Matthews will make us very welcome. I understand they are MG owners! In May an advanced party checked the pub out and found it very suitable for our humble needs. So from now on the third Sunday lunchtime venue will be The Hampden Arms. I notice the third Sunday in July clashes with MOG 2001, however the noggin will still go ahead for those that aren't attending MOG 2001.
In June we held our annual Centre dinner. I would like to thank Mike and Pam Aldrich for a very enjoyable evening.
Don't forget to check out the Thames Valley encampment at MOG 2001. To find us please look out for our World Class TVC banner at the campsite. We shall be there from Thursday evening onwards. Look forward to seeing you there.
