I would like to thank everyone from Thames Valley that helped out at the Brooklands weekend. Also I would like to thank Ann and Quentin English and their team from HopMog for organising a great event. We all had a great time. Thames Valley organised a "close to the edge" Gymkhana that I believed was enjoyed by all. I would also like to thank HopMog very much for the appreciation they showed, for the help we gave them over the weekend. It was unexpected but most welcome!
At our first Sunday noggin in June we welcomed Nigel and Michelle Backel to the Centre. They have recently taken delivery of a brand new Plus 8. It has been a life long ambition of Nigel's to own a Morgan and the car has exceeded all of his expectations - congratulations Nigel!
In the latest edition of the Thames Valley Centre Newsletter (TVCN) Chris Rowe has written an article on Thrust II and Chris has also discussed his love of models - don't we all. Also this month we have begun the "War and Peace" of all Morgan rebuilds - Ray Styles twenty-five year rebuild. In the first instalment Ray discusses how to get your car into the position of needing a rebuild! As an experiment we have decided to visit Uncle Tom's Cabin in Cookham Dean on the 3rd Thursday evening of the month. The first Thursday evening noggin at the Bird In Hand will still be held, this will be an extra noggin. The Uncle Tom's Cabin is an old Country Pub with excellent food and beer. I have never tasted London Pride like it. We discovered the Pub at the end of our walk on 4th July. Please come along and try it out - we shall meet in the Garden bar.
