The emergency holographic scribe is also making a contribution to this months centre report. This trend will no doubt continue since us computer programs are now beating Grand Masters at chess. It is the next logical step that computers should also be able to write something as trivial as a MSCC centre report.
A group of supporters made it down to Gurston Down to encourage me while I was competing at my first event of the season. It was great to see them as friendly faces in the paddock are always welcome. I hope they can make it to future events in the season.
A scenic run to the Cotswolds was held successfully with reasonable weather conditions. We had an excellent lunch time stop, sitting in the garden of a very picturesque pub. For the journey back a change in the navigational team was made since driving in front of six lost Morgans can be quite stressful and tiering. The route back was quite complex and the navigational team realised in order to keep morale up, that they shouldn't let on that there were lost. The ruse was maintained until at one point when they had to pull up to ask a passing local on a bicycle if they were on the right road for Aston Keyes. The cyclist shouted some advice as she hurriedly carried on with her journey. The sight of all those Morgans must of unsettled her. Unfortunately the navigational team wasn't sure if she said they were okay or whether they should turn round and go back the way they had come. At this juncture the comedian driving behind now realised they were lost and couldn't resist shouting "haven't you got a map?" Maps of course are only of any use if you know where you are. Taking a risk, they carried on, and finally made it to the last stop of the afternoon, a very nice tea shop in Hungerford. I believe that in terms of length this scenic run turned out to be a record for TVC. Thanks should go to Eric and his team for organising a nice day out.
Included in the events below are trips to some famous hillclimbs. Prescott, Shelsley Walsh, and Loton Park can all be reached as a day out. All three venues are situated in beautiful countryside. I would welcome your support, further details are listed below under Dates and Things.
The inaugural meeting at the Queen's Oak was held in lovely summer weather; good use was made of the pub's garden. The noggin coincided with the Norwich Classic car run to Silverstone the route of which went through Finchampstead near the Queen's and was an added bonus. Eleven Morgans made it to the noggin including Chris Rowe's car fresh from the recent Holland and Belgium meetings. It was good to see Chris again at one of our noggins. Roger arrived on foot with his one year old labrador Bobby (so it should have been twelve Morgans). Bobby is still in training - learning the route to and from the pub, for example. Hopefully the weather will be as nice for our subsequent noggins at this venue.

Sometime during August there is strong possibility that there will be a return rounders match between the ladies and the gents. Roger wants to play with the girls again, of course it was largely due to his brilliance last time that the lovely ladies had a well deserved victory. News about this event will hopefully be available next month. Rumour has it that the victors will have a double helping of ice cream and jelly!
There has been some good news from the Brian Dash household. Brian and Winnie have a new addition by the name of James Edmund, born 13th April 1997, weighting in at 10lb and 7oz. Congratulations to Brian and family from us all at TVC; you'll need a four seater now and you know they go best.

Sunday 20th July - Loton Park, Morgan Hillclimb. (This event is 8.5 miles west of Shrewsbury and in the opinion of many competitors is the best hillclimb in the country, TVC scribe will be there - given a chance).
