I hope the winter is treating you well. By the time you read this report spring will be nearly upon us. I mentioned last month that our AGM will be on April 23rd. Please note this is on a Thursday evening starting from 19:30 and not on a Saturday evening as I previously reported. Please accept my apologies for my mistake. I think I was pondering our Saturday Christmas dinner at the time. I hope no confusion has been caused. For more details see our events page.
This month we have some good news. I heard on New Year’s Day that Roger and Adrienne Prior couldn’t join us at the Phoenix as they were babysitting whilst awaiting discharge from the Royal Berkshire Hospital of a new arrival born on December 29th. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to send our heartfelt congratulations. It is always good to be reminded where future Morgan owners come from.
The other bit of good news is that after some careful negotiations, Terry Tedman has got has us back into Fawley Hill Railway Museum for 2015. This is always a wonderful day out and something to look forward to very much indeed. I would like to thank Terry for organising this trip, see the event page for details.
Our National Trust visit this month will be to Grey’s Court a family home set in a peaceful estate in the rolling hills of the Chilterns. We will have a look round the 16th century mansion; have a walk in the grounds and some lunch in the tea rooms. There is a great tower and a rare Tudor donkey wheel to see. On one of our previous visits it poured with rain – hopefully on this occasion the weather will be kinder. There are some medieval ruins to look at in a series of walled gardens. I am also looking forward to exploring the beech wood during our day out. I hope to see you there with the right weather it will be an interesting day out. For more details see our events page.
Finally, please note there is a planned Marcos and Morgan meet up at the Ace Café. As soon as I have a date, I will let you know – watch this space. It looks like 2015 is shaping up quite nicely.
