I would like to thank everyone that attended Judy Mitchell’s memorial service. Quentin and his family would like to thank ThamesMOG members for their kind support. Quentin has now moved to Kent and has regular to trips to Dover and the white cliffs in his Morgan. We hope you will be able to keep in touch with us. On behalf of the Centre, I wish all the best for the future to Quentin and his family.
Please remember that this month, it is our AGM, and also that the Chairman of the Morgan Motor Company, Dominic Riley, will be joining us on May 11th. Dominic is looking forward to meeting us and we should have a rewarding evening. Please contact me if you are planning to come so we can ensure you will all be accommodated.
On Sunday 14th May 2017 we shall enjoy a walk at Greys Court where we can explore the house and gardens at a time when the bluebells should be at their finest. Please meet in the car park at 11 am.
For our last National Trust visit at Cliveden, we enjoyed amazing weather. We had chosen to visit on Mothering Sunday so it was extraordinarily busy. Extra car parks had to be laid on and we had problems getting in and out. I apologise for any inconvenience, in future we will pick another day. As always Cliveden was stunning and even more so in the sunshine. For me the stroll along the River Thames was a first at that venue with a fine view of the house. This part of the river is famous for a scene in Three Men in a Boat, as you probably all know. Roger and Adrienne Prior will tell you that the maze at Cliveden is one of the biggest in Europe. I look forward to the next time.
Don’t forget you can join us on Sunday 28th May for a boat trip along the River Wey, at Guildford, followed by a cream tea at Dapdune Wharf. The trips take about 40 minutes and heads towards Guildford, passing what used to be the manufacturing quarter, with the Electric Theatre - the former electricity works for Guildford until 1868, and the site of Moon's timber yard - now Debenhams. At the wharf, visitors can see where the huge Wey barges were built and climb aboard 'Reliance', one of three surviving barges.

ThamesMOG member Graham Larby has been offered, on behalf of the club, free entry for up to 30 cars and drivers to the ‘Masters Historic’ race meeting on Sunday May 28th.
Masters is the leading organiser and promoter of historic motor racing. In May, Masters will run its annual and successful Brands Hatch Masters Festival where the FIA Masters Historic Formula One and FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championships will be joined on the Grand Prix circuit by Gentlemen Drivers, Pre-66 Touring Cars as well as invitation grids from the Super Touring, Stirling Moss Trophy and Woodcote Trophy.
This offer is for free entry for a car (Morgan) and driver on Sunday May 28th. Passenger tickets will have to be ordered by the driver from the Brands Hatch website.

Also in June, on Saturday 10th, we are returning to Burghfield skittle alley for an informal and fun evening – no previous bowling experience necessary!
Timings are: arrive 7 for 7:30 kick-off, food to be served at about 8:15; alley closes 11:30.
Numbers are limited to 20 – this ensures that everyone gets a goodly number of bowls and that everyone can sit down, both to watch the action and eat & drink in comfort.
The cost to play is £5 per person for the evening: this funds the hire of the alley, the prizes and a donation to charity. In addition is the cost of your meal. Don’t forget please, as reported previously, a Morgan owner from Australia has brought to our attention that Thames Valley Car badges are for sale on eBay. They appear to be our badges but we would like to point out that these sales are nothing to do with us or our previous suppliers. They are very highly priced, and please remember we can supply Thames Valley car badges new at the nominal club price. If you see any regalia out there and are interested please check with us first.
