We are biting the bullet this month, as we plan to re-start our Thursday evening Noggins at The Bell and Bottle AKA the Javatri Restaurant, Littlewick Green, with us meeting there face to face. This is our regular 1st Thursday of the month Noggins. It has been a long time. David Williams popped in while passing and found the pub will be very pleased to see us. It will be wonderful to see you all. Let’s hope freedom day, June 21st 2021, goes ahead.
Talking of June, restrictions allowing, we will have had a successful visit to The Battle of Britain Bunker on 24th June. There will be a full report next month.
While talking of next month, why not come and join us, and many other Morgan Centres, for the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone on Saturday 7th August. This popular ‘garden-party’ style club meeting will feature two races each for the Aero Racing Morgan Challenge and MGB GTV8s along with grids for FISCAR (Fifties Sports Car racing Club), Ecurie Classic Racing, BDC Classic Challenge (incorporating the Morgan Techniques Trophy) and All comers scratch plus TVRCC Challenge. The Bentley Drivers Club meeting is a very friendly affair. Families take picnics and sit in the sun or the grandstands to watch the racing, or wonder around the paddock to admire the vintage Bentleys; look at the many variety of race cars; and talk to the drivers. There is usually a large contingency of Morgans from the local centres who park up at Corpse Corner.
Also in August we have been invited to attend the RAF Benson Families Day on Thursday 19th. Full details on this event were not available at the time of writing this report. If you are interested in joining us, please check the details on our website. www.thamesmog.co.uk/events
The lockdown rules are still changing continually and the ThamesMOG Management Committee are still regularly reviewing our noggins and events. Please continue to check for the latest status on our events and meetings in the latest ThamesMoG’s newsletter, and our website. www.thamesmog.co.uk
Meanwhile, I hope you will all take care, along with your family and friends, and that you will all stay well.
Best wishes to all, Roger.
