On Thursday 5th May we held our 2022 AGM as part of our first Thursday Noggin at the Bell and Bottle, and, hence, for the first time since the lockdowns it was held in a face to face meeting which was most welcome. Afterwards we discussed ideas for future events. It was an enjoyable evening. I would like to thank everyone that attended. I also thank those of you that gave your apologies. I really hope next time we will be able to meet up in this fashion again.
With the AGM in mind, and on behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank the outgoing Committee for all their hard work, achievements and great teamwork over the last twelve months.
Moreover, I am pleased to announce that at our AGM, the meeting unanimously approved the election of the following committee members for 2022/2023:
Centre Secretary - Roger Bluff;

During the meeting I had the pleasure of awarding our trophies for 2021. The recipients were:
Richard Thorne Charity Trophy: Frank Lomax – for raising some £3500 for Combat Stress selling Morgan related items. Frank you are a worthy winner – congratulations and well done.
F.H. Douglass Trophy: this is awarded to the Morgan owner that has travelled the most miles in a year. For the third year running this trophy has been awarded to Steve Bridge. Congratulations Steve, we are all jealous of all those miles you did in your Morgan.
Our Silver Salver Trophy awarded to a member that has been most successful in motor sport, the Number one car badge trophy for attending most noggins in a Morgan, the Late Glenn Davis Trophy awarded at a non-competitive event, and the SGT Trophy awarded to a member that receives the most nominations for being someone who has acted in the best traditions of Morgan Ownership in true club spirit, were not awarded this year due to the on and off lockdown restrictions during 2021.
Well done to all our trophy winners for 2021. Good luck to everyone for 2022.
David Mansfield stood down from the Committee at the AGM. David will be travelling a lot in his newly acquired Motorhome; hence he felt he wouldn’t be available to manage our regalia. I would like to thank David for all his hard work over the years on the Committee especially seeing us through the design and procurement of our superb limited edition fiftieth anniversary car badge. We shall miss you David. Good luck on your journeys.
We are now looking for a new Regalia Officer – please get in touch if you are interested in the role.
We had a great discussion on potential future events. These included visits to wartime bunkers, National Garden Schemes and National Trust properties. A scenic run taking in the famous hill climbs in the Chilterns was another great suggestion.
I would like to thank ThamesMOG member, Graham Larby, for organising the Morgan outings to the Brands Hatch Masters Historic race meeting on Sunday 29th May. I hope it will be a fun day, with close racing and no rain.
In June we have the Pangbourne Classic Car Show. By the time you read this it will be too late to register to display your Morgan alongside all the other 200+ cars, but you can always pop along as a visitor.
On Saturday 9th July we are joining John Grover from SogMOG for a Fly-in. It is a fly-in for vintage mostly aircraft and the pilots vintage mainly. Over 100 classic and vintage aircraft have been invited.
The planes pay £10 each to land take-off is free. Cars and passengers are free to get in but a donation of £10 per car to their children’s charity (it's a fundraiser for local children's hospices.) is requested then you can leave when you're ready. Bring a picnic lunch although there should be a bacon/burger van and hot drinks van. The best thing will be homemade cakes to buy. Clean loos also available.
