On Thursday 2nd May we held our 2024 AGM as part of our first Thursday Noggin at the Bird in Hand. It was good that there was such a large turnout at our AGM. AGMs can be quite dry events, and I know that some of you thought the proceedings would go on for an hour or so. I hope you found ours to be light-hearted yet informative, and we completed the formal part of the meeting without it dragging on. I would like to thank everyone that attended. I also thank those of you that gave your apologies.
This year John French gave us an interesting talk on his extensive hobby of wood turning. He provided an amazing display of his turned wood. It is quite surprising what one can do with a log of wood. John is very talented. Also, Christopher Beck and Christopher Nickless gave us presentations on plans for future events and our trip to Mid-Wales in September respectively. I would like to thank John, Christopher and Christopher for their interesting presentations very much indeed. These were great extensions to this year’s AGM.
With the AGM in mind, and on behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank the outgoing Committee for all their hard work, achievements and great teamwork over the last twelve months.
Moreover, I am pleased to announce that at our AGM, the meeting unanimously approved the election of the following committee members for 2024/2025:

During the meeting I had the pleasure of awarding our trophies for 2023. The recipients were:
Richard Thorne Charity Trophy
Our charity has been dedicated in memory of the late Frank Lomax who did so much for charity in the Centre, especially Help for Heroes. For the first year of this new dedication, I am pleased to announce that Lynne Doughty has been awarded this trophy for monies she has raised at noggins for the Helen House Children’s Hospice. Well done Lynne, we are very proud of you.
F.H. Douglass Trophy:
This is awarded to the Morgan owner that has travelled the most miles in their Morgan during the year.
This year the trophy has been awarded to Steve Bridge, who takes any slim excuse to be out in his Morgan. Congratulations Steve well deserved.
Badge Number 1 Trophy
Sometimes known as the Noggin Trophy, is awarded to the member who has attended the most Noggins in their Morgan. This year the trophy is awarded to Chris Nickless. It was a close run thing with Richard Clayton being just one noggin behind him. Congratulations Chris for this very competitively strived for trophy.
SGT Trophy
The SGT Trophy is awarded to the member who has most exhibited the best traditions of Morgan ownership and its furtherance in true club spirit. This trophy has been proudly received by members.
This year it is awarded to David Vodden for his devoted work in revamping our website and newsletter publishing. He worked long hours for many months to solve the issues arising from this major upgrade. If Steve has any problems, David readily fixes it so our newsletters can continue seamlessly. Thank you David thank you for all your hard work. Congratulations on being awarded this trophy which is well deserved.
Well done to all our trophy winners for 2023. Good luck to everyone for 2024.

June is a busy month for us, with four events in our calendar. By the time you receive this the Pangbourne Car Classic Car Show will have started. But don’t let that put you off attending. The visit to the Museum of Water & Steam at Kew on Saturday 23rd seems very interesting. If you would like to join us checkout our website. Then at the end of the month we have the Chesham Motor Show (Best of Italian vs Best of British) and Yattendon Classic Vehicle Day both on Sunday 30th.
In July we are arranging a visit to the de Havilland Museum at London Colney on Wednesday 17th. Again full details are on our website.
