If like me you have lamented the loss of the traditional noggins of 20+ years ago, where weather-beaten blokes stand around a car park looking into each-others engines; now there is hope....
My friend Dave Clarke advised me of an interesting gathering at White Lion Antiques, on the A30 just North of Hartley Wintney, on the 
Hampshire-Surrey border. It would appear the owner of the former restaurant, now antiques centre is none other than Jerry Mahony, former BTCC and British Thundersaloon Champion.
He's combined his interests by hosting a Sunday morning classic car meeting every fortnight in the summer and every month through the winter.
Each meeting has a favoured marque that gets priority parking in the tarmac car park; others take to the field behind.
I've attended the last few meetings, with everything from Austins, to Zephyrs and much varieties in between, Morgans, MG's, supercharged MX5's, hot-rod's, a quartet of DeLoreans, a magnificent XK140 rep, E-Types, Healey's, 150-200 cars in all attend on a dry day, all free.
They sell tea/coffee and breakfast if you want, if not you can just wander around for a couple of hours and chat to folk, all of whom share the passion of preserving and driving something interesting.
I plan to arrange a Morgan Marque day in the spring, please keep an eye out for it in the list of forthcoming events.
