There was an array of Morgan owners at the show. Andy and Lynne Doughty and myself of course. Peter Page was coming but as a rear brake cylinder had seized up he felt he should stay at home and try and fix it.
We did see Jerry and Eileen Tanner, whom some folk will remember. Their son is looking after their plus 8 and he drove down from Northamptonshire to be at the show (and to see his Mum and Dad).
I met up with a couple from High Wycombe with a very nice Flat Rad Morgan which they had completely rebuilt over many years. They only drove it on high days and holidays as it had no hood. I met another chap from Chesham with a similar Flat Rad Morgan. He had rebuilt his car a couple of times as he had owned it for a very long time and had driven all over Europe in it. I asked if he would like to drive it to our Harte & Magpies noggins. He said, he was not sure as he would first have to check with his Brownie point situation with his wife !!! We may see him sometime.
Also, there was Arthur Mason, who drives a bright orange plus 4. He lives in Quainton near Aylesbury (I am not sure if he is a member of ThamesMOG). Incidentally he has never driven his Morgan with the side screens off !!! He told me that when he got home he would take them off and give it a try. I am sure he will love the experience.
All the best
Chris
