On Saturday 5 September, glorious late‑summer weather brought an excellent turnout for the West London Aero Club’s (WLAC’s) annual Members Day at White Waltham, near Maidenhead. The event once again raised funds for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and Navy Wings, and delivered a full day of flying, fun, and community spirit.
Alongside a superb display of around 150 classic cars, the Morgan contingent was particularly eye‑catching, ranging from a 1950s flat‑rad to a gleaming SuperSport. It was a pleasure to see strong representation from across the MSCC regions, with drivers from OxMog, HopMog, SexMog and ThamesMog all in attendance.
The day offered plenty of opportunities to meet both long‑standing and newly‑joined Morganeers, all while enjoying a thrilling airshow featuring some of the finest aircraft and pilots in the UK. Highlights included formation and aerobatic displays by Tiger Moth biplanes, as well as impressive demonstrations from Hurricanes and a WW2 Soviet YAK‑3U fighter.
Additional entertainment ranged from Tiger Moth flour‑bombing flights to local helicopter rides, ensuring there was something for everyone. Even the Members Day Dog Show drew a crowd, with categories such as the ever‑popular “Best Six Legs” adding a touch of humour to the proceedings.
It was wonderful to hear how many MSCC members plan to return next year — a testament to the warm atmosphere, superb organisation, and unforgettable experiences that Members Day continues to deliver.
