This month we plan to visit The Vyne on Sunday April 24th. We are planning to visit the house and its beautiful woodlands. Please meet at 11.00 am in the main car park for The Vyne

As you will probably remember, Tim Jones’ first Thames Tour on 8th May will cover the river and crossing points from Lechlade to Dorchester on Thames (but avoiding Oxford for traffic reasons). This is a very picturesque stretch of river and the low bridge at Osney in Oxford means that large and tall boats cannot get to this meandering rural area. Full details will be announced shortly via our newsletter and website. Watch this space.

Also, Tim Jones’ "Double Dealer Day" on 28th May is taking shape assembling at Richard Thorne's dealership at 10 am for coffee and cake and culminating at Williams Dealership near Chipping Sodbury for tea. We will be enjoying Lunch with Gill Bevan at Tetbury en route! Again, full details will appear shortly via website (www.thamesmog.co.uk). Both events are likely to be oversubscribed so watch this space.

Graham Larby is organising two events for us that are also likely to be oversubscribed too and are described below:

Masters Historic meeting at Brands Hatch, on Sunday May 29th

Following the popularity with MSCC members of last year’s event, TVC member Graham Larby has been offered, on behalf of the club, free entry for up to 30 cars and drivers to the ‘Masters Historic’ race meeting on Sunday May 29th.

Masters is the leading organiser and promoter of historic motor racing. In May, Masters will run its annual and successful Brands Hatch Masters Festival where the FIA Masters Historic Formula One and FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championships will be joined on the Grand Prix circuit by Gentlemen Drivers, Pre-66 Touring Cars as well as invitation grids from the Super Touring, Stirling Moss Trophy and Woodcote Trophy. http://www.mastershistoricracing.com/masters-brands/event/

This offer is for free entry for a car (Morgan) and driver on Sunday May 29th. Passenger tickets will have to be ordered by the driver from the Brands Hatch website. Please note, this is Spring Bank Holiday Sunday. If you would like to take advantage of this invitation or have any queries please email Graham at This email address is being protected from spambots. MSCC members from all other Centres are cordially invited to join TVC at this event.

Double Twelve meeting, Brooklands on 18th and 19th June

Graham Larby is also arranging a trip to the Brooklands Double Twelve meeting on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June. He attended last year and found it very entertaining, with all of the facilities being open so if you can have a good look around the place.

The Double Twelve meeting, which originates from Brooklands heyday of the 1930s’, is Brooklands’ largest organised events, and as well as static displays it includes the Brooklands Speed Trails which take place on the 800m sprint course on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit, plus various driving tests.

Graham would like to know how many members would be interested in attending and on which days. If we can get four or more TVC Morgan sports cars that can be displayed from 9am until 5pm, Brooklands will provide free tickets for cars and two occupants. There is also the opportunity for members to take part in the Test Hill Challenge and on the Sunday Cavalcade on the circuit at Mercedes-Benz World. To learn more have a look at the Brooklands website http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/double12/ or for this great day out please contact Graham at This email address is being protected from spambots. Please remember we are holding our AGM on 21st April 2016. If you have any ideas for things you would like us to do as a Centre, please do bring them along. We always welcome new proposals which we are pleased to receive anytime. If anyone wants to run an event then you can rely on the full support of the Thames Valley Centre Management Committee. Between us we have quite a lot of experience and we would be pleased to help. As I said before, if we all just organised one event a year then we would have more than enough fun things to do to keep us busy. Please note that our car and pin badges will be available to buy at the AGM. If you are coming to the AGM please contact Mike Aldrich so we can make accommodation/refreshment arrangements. Many thanks. Tel: 01628 676 619. Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

One final note, we have a date for the Morgan Factory visit, 12th May from 12:30 pm. We only have a few places left, so please get in touch if you would like to join us on this free visit. Places will be confirmed on a first come first served basis.

Thames Valley Centre car badges and pin badges

Along with a new batch of the Thames Valley Centre Car badge, as depicted in the logo associated with the Centre’s reports in Miscellany, we have produced a pin badge with the same design. This is the round badge design. The pins come in a choice of colours as well. We are taking orders now, please be quick as we feel these items will be popular, also. Please contact Mike Aldrich if you would like one. Tel: 01628 676 619. Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Take care, see you all soon – Roger.
