It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of Bill Smallwood. Bill was one of the earliest members of the Centre and was well known and had many friends. He was in fact the first treasurer for the Centre. Bill and his wife Kathie enjoyed their red 4/4 with its four seats; having many trips away while taking part in Centre events whenever they could. Sadly, in recent years they had to give up their Morgan but they had many happy memories and had many friends in the World of Morganeering. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend Bill’s funeral but I am sure he was given a good send off with an important Morgan themed element. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to send to Kathie and family our sincere condolences. To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die.

Additionally, at the time of writing, I learnt of the equally sad passing of Peter Forrest the well-known Centre Secretary of Oxmog for many years. Peter was a good friend to everyone and he will be sadly missed. Also, on behalf of the Centre, I would like to send our sincere condolences Doreen and family. Peter was a great friend to the Centre. He will missed in our area and in the world wide Morgan family.

On a happier note, Steve Bridge is taking us on a visit to Wittenham Clumps this month on Sunday May 22nd. The scenery will be varied from fabulous hilltop views, a busy lock, riverside meadows, woodland walks and an ancient hillfort. As well as walking up and around The Clumps and Castle Hill. Please meet at 11.00 am in the main car park at Wittenham Clumps, Little Wittenham, near Abingdon, OX14 4QZ. It should be an interesting day – many thanks to Steve for organising the outing.
