Fawley Hill Museum on Sunday 14th August 2016
As a last reminder, we are returning, by popular demand, to the Fawley Hill Museum on Sunday 14th August 2016. Terry Tedman has been able to get us back to the Museum earlier than we had expected. This is a great day out. Last year I had my first ride on an electrically driven carrousel. It was probably steam driven, as I previously claimed, when it was first built. Nevertheless, I have always loved the horses. The museum itself is a delight to all rail enthusiasts and of course there are the regular rides on the train around the grounds of the estate with plenty of wildlife to spot.
Our very own Tim Janes is a volunteer at the museum – a wonderful place to work. Last year he was working in the signal box, changing points, etc. Will Tim be on the footplate this year? Well we will have to go along to find out. By the way, Tim has corrected me on how the carrousel is driven, and I also apologise profusely for previously misspelling of Tim’s surname. No excuses, I won’t blame the proof reader.

The Thames Tour 3 – Teddington to Marlow, 4th September 2016.
This is the third of these very successful and enjoyable ThamesMOG outings to criss-cross the entire navigable non-tidal Thames via various routes, with suggested photo opportunities, places of interest, coffee stops/lunch venues, etc.
Suggested routes and info sheets will be provided at the start the event and full details including where to meet and end (with appropriate parking) will be provided. Participants will require road maps/satnav and will plan their own routes (with help available at the start). Coffee and lunch stops will be suggested but not provided.
There will be a modest charge of £5 per car to cover printing and organising costs. All you need to do is register in advance: then get to the start point in good time with map, money, and fuel. Full details will be published shortly.

West Green House inaugural Classic Car Show - Sunday 25th September.
You may recall that we visited West Green House earlier this year, and when we were there the club was invited to attend the West Green House’s inaugural Classic Car Show. We now have the details, and I have registered the Thames Valley Morgan Centre as a club that will be attending.
West Green House has spectacular gardens, and an interesting and violent history, see their website for details.

Thames Valley Centre car badges and pin badges
As I mentioned last month, our ThamesMOG pin badges which were launched at the recent AGM have sold very well, as have our new batch of the Thames Valley Centre Car badges. The pin badge and car badge depict the round badge design logo associated with the Centre’s reports in Miscellany. Both the badges come with a choice of car colour.
We are taking orders now, please be quick as we feel these items are proving to be very popular. Orders are taken on a first come first served basis, as always.
