At the time of writing we were about to attend two sensational RAF air shows: RAF Benson; and RAF Odiham. I do hope the weather was dry and sunny for these events. When you think, anyone travelling mainland Europe recently will have probably melted in their Morgan sports cars. I have long held the belief that out temperate climate is best suited to open top motoring – not hot or no too cold. Hope any of you travelling South survived okay.

This month we have, on Thursday 7th September, the next in the series of Tim’s Tours and great fun they are too. Details are below.

I am pleased to say that, also this month, ThamesMOG will be going to the West Green House Classic Car show. I know that West Green House are looking forward to seeing us, and even use a picture of our Morgans on their website to publicise this event. ThamesMOG has been issued with free entries for our Morgan sports cars, their drivers as well as one passenger. The Classic Car show is on Sunday 24th September, and will be the first in our autumn and winter season of National Trust visits. By the way, if you would like to receive our newsletter you can apply for Centre membership via our website www.thamesmog.co.uk.

Let’s hope summer will kick start again in time for our September Noggin at The Novello, so we can sit outside in their comfy seats overlooking the lovely countryside and our ensemble of Morgan sports cars. It is all very cosmopolitan. Also, why not join us for Sunday Lunch at the Harte & Magpies on Sunday 17th September. I hope to see you at one of these soon.

West Green House Classic Car Show on Sunday 24th September

Last year’s show was a great hit with our members, and I’m sure that you would want to join us again this year. This year, there is expected to be an even greater and varied collection of Classics on display.

Not only will there be a large variety of classic cars on display, but you will have the opportunity to wonder around the garden that combines neo-classical style with contemporary design. A grand water staircase provides a focal point to the Nymphaeum Fountain designed by architect Quinlan Terry. The magnificent Walled Garden, faithfully restored to its original lines, is entered through an arbor of wisteria. An allee of apple trees divides its elaborate potager with its berry filled fruit cages, annual flowers and colourful vegetables from its signature perennial borders exuberantly planted in subtle hues of mauve, plum and blue.

More details of West Green House Gardens can be found here. http://westgreenhouse.co.uk/garden/

ThamesMOG has been issued with free entries for our Morgan sports cars, their drivers as well as one passenger. It should be a great day out.

Thames Valley Centre car badges available on eBay - beware

Don’t forget please, as reported previously, a Morgan owner from Australia has brought to our attention that Thames Valley Car badges are for sale on eBay. They appear to be our badges but we would like to point out that these sales are nothing to do with us or our previous suppliers. They are very highly priced, and please remember we can supply Thames Valley car badges new at the nominal club price. If you see any regalia out there and are interested please check with us first. I would like to thank our Australian customer for letting us know about these items.
