Please remember that we will be holding our AGM on May 3rd at The Novello during our normal First Thursday Noggin evening. Calling notices have gone out. This year we are collecting together photographs of our past events to put together a show. If you have any photos you would like us to include please contact Steve Bridge. We will also have a discussion on future event ideas. There is a busy summer ahead, but we are always on the lookout for new things to do. I look forward to seeing you there.

We had a grand turn out of Morgan Sports cars for the Novello noggin in April. There was a definite whiff of spring in the air. John Buckmaster showed us his sketched drawing for a hatchback type conversion that was for sale in Miscellany. It looks quite smart – very practical. If you buy it John, I hope it works out well for you. It reminded me of an interview with Charles Morgan from a few years ago about the utility of our cars. In the interview he was arguing for everyday use of the Morgan. The reporter must have asked about supermarket shopping. Charles enigmatically replied, ‘Morgan owners go shopping more often.’ With this extra space depicted with the four seater conversion this may now no longer be the case. Mind you this isn’t my main worry. I am concerned about car doors, shopping trollies being badly driven, or even rolling along on their own. Perhaps, saving them for high days and holidays and Thames Valley events is the best way.

Also, I would like to congratulate Tim Jones on his new steed – a rather beautiful mid 00’s Roadster. He told me, he left behind some Italian Exotica on the motorway recently. All within the speed limits, of course. Morgan sports cars rule okay! The smoothness of the Roadster and the roar it gives under load is hard to beat. I suspect you will have many happy miles in your new machine Tim – real great stuff!

Don’t forget please, as reported previously, a Morgan owner from Australia has brought to our attention that Thames Valley Car badges are for sale on eBay. They appear to be our badges but we would like to point out that these sales are nothing to do with us or our previous suppliers. They are very highly priced, and please remember we can supply Thames Valley car badges new at the nominal club price. If you see any regalia out there and are interested please check with us first. I would like to thank our Australian customer for letting us know about these items.
