I would like to take this opportunity, during these deeply worrying times, to wish everyone in our Centre and beyond all the best, with my hope that you will all stay safe and well.

In summary, for the foreseeable future all our noggins are cancelled and all our planned outings and events are either cancelled or postponed. If there is any change, the ThamesMog’s newsletter will inform you or you can check our website anytime.
Steve Bridge, our Communication Officer, and editor of the ThamesMog newsletter, is trying to keep our spirits up by sending out ideas for things to do during lockdown. One activity that caught my eye was the sketching of Morgan Sports Cars. This reminded me of my favourite travel writer, if you can call him that, A. W. Wainwright. Wainwright wrote the definitive guidebooks for walking the mountains of the Lake District. In the summer he would walk the hills, make notes and take photographs. In the winter he would write and sketch the mountains from his photos. He wrote that when he couldn’t be in the Lakes, the next best thing is to write about them and to draw them. I feel the same about sketching pictures of our steeds. This is the next best thing to being out there in your Morgan.
With writing in mind, Charles has asked for material about our events in Miscellany. A great idea, I think. Also, anything you would like to send to Steve for our newsletter, please do. We will keep in touch.
During this time, I realise how precious the time we have together is, our events, our noggins, our interactions. I would like to thank our Committee for all their hard work in providing opportunities, along with members of the Centre, for us to go out and enjoy our Morgan sport cars together. I promise when we get through this, and we will, we will resume our wonderful events and outings.
Meanwhile, I hope you will all take care along with your family and friends and that you will all stay well.
