I hope you are all safe and well. As before the relaxation of the lockdown rules is a gradual process. With this in mind, the ThamesMOG Management Committee has decided to continue with our cancellation and postponement of noggins and events respectively in July. Please remember, that the latest information on our activities can be found on our website, and our ThamesMOG newsletters will still be going out to keep us all connected.
I had a drive out the other day, and it brought back happy memories of freedom, ‘All I ask is a louvered bonnet and a satnav to guide her by.’ Not as romantic as the stars, of course. I remember, however, some years ago getting a lift home on the back of a four seater. It was a lovely evening, the stars were out. We could see an unidentified object travelling adjacent to our course. If travelling in a Morgan wasn’t excitement enough.
Remembering our previous outings is a good way to help us during these worrying times, I believe. Our lovely visits to National Gardens, Dealer days and their warm welcome and support, visits to motoring museums, boat trips, motor sport, weekends away, and many more. They will all be there for us going forward. I think we can just about see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Our fiftieth anniversary badge is selling well. David Mansfield is taking orders, worldwide, on a strictly first come first served basis. One numbered badge has been made for each year of us being a Centre. I recommend being quick with your order. When they are gone they are gone. I’m pleased I got mine.
In summary, nevertheless, for the foreseeable future all our noggins are cancelled, and our planned outings and events are either cancelled or postponed. If there is any change, the ThamesMOG’s newsletter will inform you or you can check our website anytime. www.thamesmog.co.uk
Meanwhile, I hope you will all take care along with your family and friends and that you will all stay well.
Best wishes to all, Roger.
