Please remember that on Thursday 6th May it is our first Thursday Noggin as well as our AGM. Do come along, virtually i.e. via Zoom, as after the AGM, we will be discussing events post-lockdown. We plan to make it a fun evening.

When planning the celebration of our fiftieth year as a Centre, none of us could have expected to see the onset of a global pandemic. It has been incredibly challenging during this difficult time to keep the momentum and the spirit of the Centre going. The stay-at-home message, and the concern for peoples’ safety has been uppermost in the Committee’s mind. We felt that regular communications with you, our members, was imperative to keep our spirits up. I am, therefore, indebted to our Communications Officer, Steve Bridge. Steve has provided us with regular newsletters that have been entertaining, informative and always lively. The quizzes helped us fill those endless locked-down hours. Steve provided the right tone during these difficult times. I would like to thank him personally for the huge amount of work he puts in. He lifts our moods and helps us to look forward to better times. Let’s hope these will be soon.

I would also like to thank Dave Mansfield for all his hard work this past year selling our regalia worldwide. Dave has a good handle on the new paperwork after Brexit which is an achievement in itself. It is good to know that our 50th anniversary car badges are in such great demand. It would be lovely to visit these far flung places to see our badges displayed on their owner’s Morgan.

I am pleased to hear that once again, ThamesMOG member, Graham Larby, has been offered, on behalf of the club, half-price entry for up to 20 Morgan cars and drivers to the Brands Hatch Masters Historic race meeting on Sunday 30th May. A festival of racing, an old-school circuit and a weekend of social fun! It has to be Brands Hatch! If you have any queries please contact Graham, his details are below.

The lockdown rules are changing continually and the ThamesMOG Management Committee are regularly reviewing our noggins and events. Please continue to check for the latest status on our events and meetings in the latest ThamesMOG’s newsletter, and our website. www.thamesmog.co.uk

Meanwhile, I hope you will all take care, along with your family and friends, and that you will all stay well.

 Best wishes to all, Roger.
