The weather for our second face to face Thursday evening Noggin at The Bell and Bottle AKA the Javatri Restaurant, Littlewick Green, was a little wet. Nevertheless, Paul and Nicola Whitworth arrived for their first club event in their anniversary Morgan. It had steel wheels and a whole host of period fittings to take us down memory lane. A lovely car, I hope you both enjoyed the evening.
At the Noggin I had the pleasure of awarding the Richard Thorne Charity Trophy to Richard Clayton. Richard was out and about during lockdown visiting and helping people in his Morgan. At the AGM those attending thought he as a worthy winner and so do I. Well done Richard – it was good to see you.
We had a great turn out at our August 1st-Thursday Noggin making for an enjoyable evening. Also, I would like to congratulate Chris Nickless who runs the Harte and Magpie noggin on the Third Sunday lunchtime. This noggin has a fantastic turn out and is well organised with all the complications we have to live with these days. Well done Chris.
In September we have two visits planned, the West Green House Classic Car Show, and our Two Dealer Day, full details are below.
This time next year Chris will be taking us back to mid-Wales for a repeat of the fantastic trip we had last year. If you would like to go, I would recommend you contact Chris as soon as possible. He has booked the accommodation there and it would be nice to fill it with Morgan sports cars. Details below.
We have had to postpone a number of events this year with the hope of running them in 2022. With this in mind we shall be publishing a calendar soon to relaunch these events – please watch this space.
The rules for how we handle things with regard the pandemic situation are still changing continually and the ThamesMOG Management Committee are still regularly reviewing our noggins and events. Please continue to check for the latest status on our events and meetings in the latest ThamesMog newsletter, and our website.
Meanwhile, I hope you will all take care, along with your family and friends, and that you will all stay well.
Best wishes to all, Roger.
