As I wrote this Miscellany report, I learned with great sadness of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. My thoughts are with all members of the royal family. God save the King.
Also, as I wrote this report, ThamesMOG members were preparing for our Welsh trip to Carmarthenshire. This four night adventure included two full days of touring the Welsh countryside and enjoying the splendid hospitality from our hosts at Llanerchindda farm. All Morgans are washed and polished, tyres pumped up and pre-holiday checks carried out so that nothing falls off that shouldn't !!!. I hope that you had a splendid time, and the weather was kind.
We had another great Noggin at the Bird In Hand, last month, with lots of new members attending. I had a delayed homecoming from my holidays, so could attend the Noggin, as Lucy had twisted her ankle and we were in a walk-in centre near her home. Thankfully, she is making speedy recovery. After ten days in Scotland, it happened as we arrived home. More accidents happen in the house, etc.
The West Green House Classic Car Show held on Sunday 18th September was great as usual. With ThamesMOG member Paul Briderick showing his Merlin/Meteor engine. Thank you Paul, it was quite a spectacle.
Apart from the exciting events in September, we also had a number of important birthdays. I would like to congratulate Steve Bridge and David Williams on their milestone birthdays. I also had a birthday but I am a little bit behind them. I must say you both look young. Some put it down to Morgan ownership; all those cobwebs get blown away. So it’s many happy returns to us all.

Next month, on the first Sunday in November, why not watch the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. You could decide to watch the Veterans Car Run by joining SexMog at the Jolly Tanner in Staplefield. Park your Morgans around Staplefield village green where the Jolly Tanner and The Victory Inn pubs do a great breakfast. If you plan to watch it there it is best to arrive before 9 am. The quickest and simplest way from Reading is via the M25/M23. You can take your time driving home by returning through the delightful Surrey countryside. Alternatively, you can watch the start in London. SmogMog are planning to be at Hyde Park Corner before 7 am, or you could make a day out of it by watching the Run from the finishing line situated on Brighton's Madeira Drive, from 10am onwards.
I am pleased to report that Ann Vodden will fill our vacancy for a membership secretary. Thank you very much Ann. I am very pleased you have offered to take on this important job. I also would like to thank Dave for all his hard work over the years. Dave Cleveland will be handing over to Ann soon. We have a growing membership, with lots of new people coming to our noggins. It is great to see and I wish Ann all the best as our new membership secretary.
The COVID-19 is still with us, as I discovered before our First Thursday Noggin last month, so the ThamesMOG Management Committee are regularly reviewing our noggins and events. As you know, our number fifty badge of the ThamesMOG fiftieth anniversary car badges has been sold via auction to a Centre member. Also, please remember we still have a few badges left to sell.
