At the first Thursday noggin in November, at the Bird In Hand, I was honoured to be presented with a trophy for my long service as Centre Secretary. It was a complete surprise. It was great that my colleagues should club together for me. I was deeply moved. I thank everyone involved. Steve Bridge coordinated things and John French spent long hours crafting my gift with great skill. I thank you both very much indeed. All I can say is time passes very quickly these days.
I was like to thank Chris Nickless for arranging the Christmas Lunch at the Harte and Magpie on 10th December. As you are reading this in December’s Miscellany, the cut-off date for booking seats will have passed. I hope that you all have an enjoyable and tasty meal in a few days’ time.
Don’t forget there will be no Sunday Lunchtime Noggin on December 18th as it is too close to this year’s Christmas Lunch.
On Sunday 1st January, why not join with other car enthusiasts for an impromptu gathering of cars and car folk at The Phoenix Inn, Hartley Wintney, from about 8am to 2pm. This is where you are likely to see all types, shapes, colours and condition of cars. Vintage, Veteran, Classic, Hot-Rod they will all be there at some time. Have no fear about parking. Although there is little room in the pub car park, just do as everyone does, and park on the road leading up the pub. You can't miss where it is from the array of cars parked along the road. The pub usually has burgers, hot dogs, teas and coffee for sale outside, as well as a busy bar inside. Keep an eye open for any fellow ThamesMOGers who might be there.
