Last month I mention the return of a member from our formation noggin back in 1970. Well, during our noggin at the Bird In Hand, I had the pleasure of meeting David Byer. David is our surviving foundation member. As I chatted with him, I recalled that we had met some years ago at a Nettlebed Sunday noggin. David took me for a spin in his early Plus 8, in racing green if I remember correctly. It was a thrilling experience. It was great to see you again David.

We had a busy August despite the lack of summer weather at times. Some of us went to the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone, always a great day out. And we had an enjoyable day at the RAF Odiham Families Day.

This month we will be at the West Green House Classic Car Show on Sunday 24th September. ThamesMOG has applied for club entry, which will provide, as in previous years, free entry for your Morgan, driver and one passenger. To gain free entry, please ensure that you arrive at West Green House between 8:30 and 9:30, where a member of ThamesMOG will issue you with your tickets.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including sausage and bacon rolls, and other culinary delights available in the park and garden. There is an Award for both the best and most popular car in the show! Let’s hope the weather gods will not be upset this year.

Looking ahead a little there is the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on Sunday 5th November, when we join with SexMOG at the Jolly Tanner in Staplefield. For the intervening time, Chris Beck is looking into some more mid-week outings. Please watch this space.
