I hope wherever our members were to watch the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run had an enjoyable dry time. It appeared the weather had changed for the better, although, on the day, nearer to home there was heavy rain, to begin with at least.
As this is the December edition of Miscellany, I would like to wish all my readers a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Thank you all for your support to the Centre: many thanks to those of you that organised the events, and also a thank you to all those of you that attended. Supporting an event gives great satisfaction to organisers. Let’s look forward to another successful year in 2024.
ThamesMOG are holding their Christmas Lunch at the Harte and Magpies. By the time you read this, all booking must have been made via Richard Clayton. Don’t forget, menu choices must be confirmed by 6th of December at the latest. Many thanks to Richard for organising this event, which promises to be a very pleasant occasion.
To blow away those New Year cobwebs, why not join with other car enthusiasts on New Year’s Day for an impromptu gathering of cars and car folk at The Phoenix Inn, Hartley Wintney, from about 8am to 2pm. This is where you are likely to see all types, shapes, colours and condition of cars. Vintage, Veteran, Classic, Hot-Rod they will all be there at some time. Have no fear about parking. Although there is little room in the pub car park, just do as everyone does, and park on the road leading up the pub. You can't miss where it is from the array of cars parked along the road. The pub usually has burgers, hot dogs, teas and coffee for sale outside, as well as a busy bar inside. Keep an eye open for any fellow ThamesMOGers who might be there.
