September’s ThamesMOG events were like buses, all coming at once, but as the deadline for submitting this report was before these events, I can only list what we expect.
Over the weekend of 20th and 21st, there was the Kop Hill Speed Hill Climb, where you may have seen members and their Morgans alongside the Hill. On Saturday, 20th, ThamesMOG member Howard Clark competed at the Thruxton racetrack in the final two races of the Morgan Challenge. Some members were cheering him on. How did Howard do? You will have to wait for next month’s Miscellany to find out.
You would certainly have seen Centre members at the West Green House Classic Car Show on Sunday, 21st, where we reserved free entry for members’ Morgans, drivers, and their passengers. On the same day, there would have been plenty of members at our Harte and Magpies Sunday Lunchtime Noggin.
Our Noggins continue to grow stronger, and at our October Sunday Lunchtime Noggin on Sunday 19th, we are expecting MSCC royalty. We’re thrilled to announce that Jann Robinson, Chair of the Morgan Sports Car Club, will be attending. This is a wonderful opportunity for ThamesMOG members to meet Jann in person, learn about the exciting developments within the Club, and share ideas on the future of Morgan motoring. Since this is our Sunday Lunch Noggin Day, why not join us for lunch and meet with Jann?
Our Centre’s events don’t stop there. On Sunday, 2nd November, we will be joining SexMog at the Jolly Tanner in Staplefield to watch the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Then on Tuesday, the 18th, we head to Malvern for a tour of the Morgan Motor Company factory.
We are also planning a visit to the Silverstone Museum in the near future.
