This month I arrived late at our first Thursday noggin at the Bird In Hand. I had been late leaving the printers of TVCN, I normally like to give out early editions at the first Thursday noggin. During the evening I had the pleasure of welcoming John Hunt to the Centre, John Sherwood's brother-in-law. John is on the look out for a Morgan and hopes to get a car one day - good luck John! Gordon Stemp returned with his son still feeling the worse for wear after our dramatic expedition to darkest HopMogLand - at least we survived Gordon!
At our Sunday lunchtime noggin in February we welcomed three new members to the Centre. Pete Gaine a local to Finchampstead arrived in a early crossflow Morgan that he drives everyday. Pete doesn't like new cars and spends much of his working life keeping vintage vehicles on the road. M Condint came along in an early 4/4 also and turned out to be a good friend to Philip Young. Finally Dave Richards came along in a Royal Ivory Plus eight. I hope you can all come to a noggin again soon!
In the latest edition of the Thames Valley Centre Newsletter (TVCN) Chris Rowe has continued his article on images of Morgans and with a look at plastic ones! I have reported backed from the first serious scientific zoological expedition for ThamesMog to darkest HopMogLand. The new Thames Valley Morgan Car badges have now arrived in our region. Jim Bellew will now be arriving at noggins with the actual badges; so please see Jim for collection of orders. We are planning a second batch so please contact Jim Bellew as soon as possible. Please don't forget to let Jim know the colour of the car you want for your badge. Experience so far with the badges has been that once seen an order is normally placed - so please be quick!
In May HopMog have invited us to join them for a day out at the Singleton Open Air Museum. Please meet at the entrance at 10:30 am. HopMog have organised a roped off area in the car park for Morgans only. It is important to meet up in the car park since everyone will go in about 11am as a group to get a discount on the entry. If the weather is nice it will be worth bringing a picnic; otherwise there are plenty of cafes in the museum. In June there will be a Morgans weekend at Brooklands celebrating the seventieth year of F H Douglas and the Silver Jubilee of HopMog. HopMog have asked whether anyone from Thames Valley would like to organise the gymkhana at this event - if there are any volunteers please let me know. We would need about six people.
