At the time of writing I had just returned from a welcome return to Fawley Railway Museum. Lady McAlpine was clearly in attendance waving at the steam train locomotive and its gleeful passengers. Many thanks to Terry Tedman for organising the trip: the feeling is that Lady McAlpine will keep the museum going at least in her lifetime. As always we were honoured to be there.
Up to this point we have been sweltering in the heat of this exceptional summer in the northern hemisphere of mother Earth. This week though, the temperature has dropped and rain has returned. I have met several people who have claimed they stood out in the rain to feel the forgotten pleasure of being both cold and wet. Of course this doesn’t work in a Morgan unless one is stopped at some traffic lights.
This month we have the return of our popular Dealers days, this time with the added attraction of a visit to Westonbirt Aboretum. Tim is planning a curry at the Novello at the end of the trip. I am reliably informed: they do the best curries this side of New Delhi. It should be a great day. Later in September we are making a welcome return to the West Green Classic Car Show, and in October we have a trip to The Trenchard Museum and the James McCudden Flight Heritage Centre at RAF Halton near Wendover.
Please make contact if you are interested in a factory visit. If there is sufficient interest we could look to go in November, and/or a New Year visit may also be a good time to go; and there could be some new things to see by then? Please let us know any preference. Visits to the factory are always a very rewarding experience.

Outline plan for this unique event is as follows: Meet at Westonbirt Aboretum, Pub Lunch at Westonbirt, then onto the Williams Morgan dealership. This is then followed by Curry and Noggin at The Novello.

West Green House Classic Car Show – Sunday 23rd September
ThamesMOG have again been invited to attend the West Green House Classic Car Show. We have registered as a club entitling us to free entry for 20 vehicles, including drivers and one passenger. We will be allocated a space so we will not be split up.
Bring along your Morgan to parade along the private drive and park at West Green House. Bring the family for a wonderful day out of classic cars, gorgeous gardens and traditional Afternoon Tea.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including bacon and sausage rolls, cake, tea and coffee in the showground, coffee, tea, cake and light lunches in our lovely garden Tea Room.

The Trenchard Museum – Thursday 4th October
A visit to The Trenchard Museum and the James McCudden Flight Heritage Centre at RAF Halton.
This year the RAF is celebrating its 100 years anniversary, and Hugh Trenchard -1st Viscount Trenchard - has been described as the Father of the Royal Air Force.
James McCudden, VC, DSO & Bar, MC & Bar, MM was an British flying ace of the First World War and among the most highly decorated airmen in British military history.
12:00 Meet at the Harte and Magpies pub for lunch, followed by scenic drive to the airfield. Harte and Magpies. Magpie Lane. Coleshill. HP7 0LU
14:00 Arrive at RAF Halton. RAF Halton, Aylesbury, HP22 5PG (if you can’t make lunch meet us at 14:00 at the base)
