The news that by 2022, all new cars in the EU, and the UK, whether we are in or out, will be automatically governed to the speed limit or something like that, brought me to mind of the late great James Hunt. I remember him saying, when he was retired from Formula 1, that he drove around in an old baker’s van so he could drive on the limit without losing his licence. To me this is the point, how our Morgan sports drive and handle is what it’s all about. I wonder what will happen as you go from a 30 mph to a 20 mph – a sudden slow down as you cross the boundary. None of this seems wise to me.
We have a very busy month ahead with four trips, plus our AGM which is being held during our ‘1st Thursday of the Month Noggins’ at the ‘The Bell and Bottle’, on May 2nd. Calling notices will have gone out. After the formalities of the AGM, we will have a discussion on future event ideas. Please remember, that in 2020, which is not that far away, we will be celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Centre. With this is mind we are looking to plan a year-long celebration with some special events culminating in a special dinner in November (the month of our foundation back in 1970). Please watch this space. See the events page for more events.
