I remember seeing in one of our ThamesMOG’s newsletters an image from the Back to the Future movie with the Doc saying, ‘Whatever you do, don’t go to the year 2020.’ Now if I had a Morgan Time Machine (of course we could not consider a DeLorean) I would go back to November 1970 to see the first noggin held on the first Thursday at the Bird In Hand. Knowl Hill. Therefore, this month our First-Thursday Noggin at the Bell and Bottle will be the fiftieth anniversary of this first meeting. We had planned to have a curry night in celebration, but sadly, due to tighter Covid restrictions, the ThamesMOG committee have decided to postpone this event. We will hold this evening as soon as practicable. Meanwhile, I salute Arthur Neal and Chris Rowe and the other members that were at that first meeting. They couldn’t have imagined the world we would be living in fifty years later. What I can say, when we can hold our face to face curry night celebration, the Centre will be striving forward for the next fifty years.
We are considering holding Zoom meetings for the First-Thursday Noggins so please watch this space for information on these future Log-in Noggins. As you know we recently held a very successful and well attended AGM via Zoom.
With the AGM in mind, and on behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank the outgoing Committee for all their hard work, achievements and great teamwork over the last twelve months.

The Zoom AGM went well, and I would like to thank everyone who attended online. Nevertheless, let’s hope next time we can meet in person.
This month we will be joining SexMOG to watch the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run at the Jolly Tanner in Staplefield on Sunday 1st November.

The lockdown rules are changing continually, and at the time of writing they seem to becoming more restrictive again. The ThamesMOG Management Committee will review our noggins and events day to day.
