I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Christopher Nickless. He was a good friend to our Centre, contributing significantly to our activities and ensuring we stayed engaged with our Morgan sports cars. He played a vital role in our Centre Committee and at our Annual General Meetings. Christopher was always helpful to members and had a wealth of creative ideas for events and future activities.
Friendly and approachable, Christopher was an exceptional organiser. Over the years, he used these qualities to transform the Harte and Magpie Sunday Noggin into a well-attended monthly event. He cultivated a positive relationship with the landlord, allowing us to enjoy wonderful Christmas lunches at the pub. Christopher also organised pleasant countryside walks starting from the Harte and Magpie. These Noggins fostered many new friendships along the way. Christopher continuously involved his family in his Morgan activities, and extended it to his family in Denmark.
In addition to local events, Christopher arranged our biannual trips to mid-Wales, a stunning area with breathtaking scenic routes. He successfully filled a hotel with Morgan owners, and during our visits, the sun often shone, making the experience enjoyable for all involved. These trips even marked the first use of drone technology, resulting in some sensational photographs.
However, the sun didn’t always shine, and Christopher would fondly recall a trip to Spa in his Morgan three-wheeler, enduring a downpour of biblical proportions. Although there were incidents on the track, thankfully, Christopher emerged unscathed.
On behalf of the Centre, Club, and the Morgan community, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Christopher’s family and friends. A spiritual man, his essence was reflected in all that he did. Christopher will be sorely missed.” Roger Bluff. Centre Secretary.
Christopher’s funeral was held on the 20th May in St Peter & St Paul Church, Great Missenden. We gave Chris a Morgan send-off in the form of a parade of three and four-wheeler Morgans to the church.

We have had a very busy May which started with our AGM. This year, after the AGM activities, we were giving a fascinating talk on bee keeping by John Waddelove, well know local beekeeper. Later in the month we visited the Aston Hill Centenary Hill Climb, the scene of some of the country’s most prestigious hill climb events from 1904 to 1925. At the end of May we visited the Pangbourne Classic Car Show, where over 500 Classic and Supercars were on display. We also joined SwanMOG for a tour of the F1 gearbox manufacturer Hewland Engineering.
On Sunday 1st June, we will be joining with HopMOG at the Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival. Then on Sunday 8th June we will be at ‘Classics on the Crick’, an event held on the village playing fields in the middle of Naphill village. There will be fantastic live music throughout the day, great food stands, the Block and Piston Bar plus numerous trade stalls. Classics on the Crick expect the day to be a sell-out, so we would encourage you to enter in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
On Sunday 29th June, we have two events. The Yattendon Classic Vehicle Day. Based in the village of Yattendon, this event has become a popular event in the classic car program. This year, ThamesMOG have registered as a club exhibitor, so come and join us under the ThamesMOG flag. All proceeds of the show go to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Did you know it costs £2.2 million to keep TVAA flying every year? The second event is the Chesham Motor Show. Don't miss out on this exciting show of automotive excellence.
