June was another busy month for ThamesMOG. On Sunday, 1st June, we joined with HopMOG at the Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival. Then on Sunday 8th June, we were at ‘Classics on the Crick’, an event held on the village playing fields in the middle of Naphill village. There was fantastic live music throughout the day, and great food stands. On Sunday, 29th June, we had two events. The Yattendon Classic Vehicle Day, which has become very popular, with all proceeds going to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Did you know it costs £2.2 million to keep TVAA flying every year? The second event was the Chesham Motor Show, which is held along the High Street.
In July, we keep our foot to the floor, or should we say, eyes to the skies. On Saturday, 12th July, we join with SogMOG for the West Tisted Air Display. It is a fly-in for mostly vintage aircraft and the pilots of a certain age. Over 100 classic and vintage aircraft have been invited. Cars and passengers are free to get in, but a donation of £10 per car, in aid of the local children's hospice, is requested. Bring a picnic lunch, there should be bacon/burger and hot drinks vans, and the homemade cakes are worth trying!
Our feet are firmly on the ground for the Chiltern Open Air Museum Classic Vehicle Show on Saturday 19th July. There will be a stunning collection of classic cars and motorcycles, and you will also get to walk around the fascinating historic buildings that make up the Open Air Museum.
On Friday, 25th July, we will again be looking to the skies for our visit to the Shuttleworth Trust. As the following day is their annual Summer Air Show, we expect to see plenty of preparation work on the aircraft. If you intend to join us, please email Chris Beck
A full list of all our events can be found on our events page
Summer is here, so get out there, and remember ‘A Morgan is for life, not just for Sundays’.
