Belatedly, I am deeply saddened to report the passing last year of Jennifer Newbery. Jenny was a long standing member of the Centre and she knew many of our founding members like the late Arthur Neal and Chris Rowe. Her husband Tony Newbery is still active with us; he brings Jenny’s plus four, bought new from Richard Thorne Classic Cars, to our Southern based noggins on a regular basis. I first new Jenny when she had a 4/4 that she had purchased new from Mike Spence which will give some of you an idea of how long ago that was.

At our Christmas Dinner at the Bird In Hand our Awards Officer Carol Rose had the pleasure of presenting our trophies to the winners for 2012. For those of you that were not there I am now pleased to announce the winners as follows: F. H. Douglass Trophy: for the owner who has driven the most distance in their Morgan during the year was won by Ian Morgan for travelling seven thousands miles in his Centenary Aero 8. His Morgan has been off the road for the last nine months of 2012 so this mileage was quite an achievement. One

If you are reading this Centre report then I am very pleased, because at least it probably means that the predictions from the Maya Calendar did not come to pass and the world hasn’t come to an end. This is good news because we have a busy 2013 ahead of us. Long weekends to Torquay and Corfe Castle are just two of the highlights. Last month I detailed our trophies awarded to members of Thames Valley Centre on an annual basis. You will never believe it but I managed to forget one.
