May 2015

May is a busy month for the Thames Valley Centre. In addition to the regular monthly noggins we have a host of events. Firstly, the 9 pin bowling match against the Marcos club, originally scheduled for May, has been postponed following a double booking by the pub. I will be looking for an alternative venue for later in the year. On a positive note, the annual Morgan and Marcos Ace Café meeting takes place on 23rd May. This iconic location has become the regular meeting place for many motor and bike clubs. We look forward to enjoying the traditional ‘50s

April 2015

Firstly, don’t forget that our AGM will be held on April 23rd. Please contact Mike Aldrich (details below) to let him know if you are coming so that we can arrange the accommodation accordingly – thank you. The current Committee will look forward to welcoming you to the meeting. On April 26th we will make a welcome return to Cliveden near Taplow, with its breath-taking views across the River Thames, its series of beautiful gardens and of course the challenging Cliveden Maze. The house too is well worth a visit rounding off a lovely day out. Some important news.

) Our visit will be on Sunday 22nd March, when we shall meet at 11 am in the Memorial car park; afterwards we will visit the meadows and the respective monuments. . This month we have some good news. I heard on New Year’s Day that Roger and Adrienne Prior couldn’t join us at the Phoenix as they were babysitting whilst awaiting discharge from the Royal Berkshire Hospital of a new arrival born on December 29th. I would like to wish all the readers of this column a very happy, prosperous New Year with above all good health. Also, I would like to thank everyone that took the time to review and make a contribution to our revision of the Centre’s constitution. I am pleased to report that the revised Constitution was adopted at our recent EGM. I would like to thank everyone that attended the meeting. Suggested amendments will be taken forward and tabled at our next AGM. It should be remembered that these types of documents can be reviewed and are ‘living documents’ that

At the moment of writing this Centre Report on 10 December at 12:55, I received an SMS message to that Terry and Teresa Tedman had become grandparents at 11:39. Their daughter Angela had a bonnie grandson and both were doing fine. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to send our heartfelt congratulations.
