This month brings us the ever exciting Brighton Speed Trials weekend. I would like to congratulate Mike Hughes for finishing his rebuild of his special Morgan that has an interesting race pedigree. Mike and his son Harvey have just returned from Classic Le Mans where they put their newly refurbished Morgan through its paces: Roadsters look out! On behalf of the Centre I would like to thank the Cornwall Centre and their associates for all their hard work in providing a wonderful event that was MOG 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, particularly meeting up with some old lost friends from the region. It was a terrific weekend. Also, I would like to thank everyone for helping me with my broken down camper van as I was leaving MOG 2008.  I was deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Glenn Davies. Glenn had been an active member of our Centre, as well as our neighbouring Oxmog, for many years. He worked closely with his wife Jane, our very own Regalia Officer, helping her to produce our popular Thames Valley garments and car badges. Glenn had many friends in the club and he will be sorely missed. I was proud to have known him and that I had been able to call him my friend. Glenn had many interests, along with his love of Morgan cars; he also had

 We have been lucky with our noggin pubs over the years: with the colourful Greek Chef from the Hampden Arms; the puppet television show Thunderbirds loving Landlord from the Poacher; and to the glamorous, sophisticated lady owner of the Bird In Hand. Well, we now have a new Land Lord and Lady for our newest noggin pub the Cross: Mark and Tanya are quite cultured with their love of music and the arts in general. As the winner of the Richard Thorne Charity Trophy in 2007, Bert Oslar has the job of nominating our chosen charity for 2008. I am pleased to say that Bert has chosen the Sue Ryder Homes at Nuffield, a local concern. At Christmas fund raisers are invited to a special party when a candle of remembrance is lit in commemoration of received donations.
