I would like to thank Adrienne and Roger Prior for sorting our trip to the Dunsfold Aerodrome "Wings and Wheels" event back in August. I understand the air show was quite spectacular. Fortunately, the recently restored Vulcan bomber was able to attend this year giving a remarkable show, after it had demonstrated at the Bournemouth air show. The Red Arrows were seen taking off in formation and landing back in style after a tremendous half hour display. There was a great classic car/bike show as well, I certainly hope Roger and Adrienne will get us back there again next year!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Centenary celebrations. On behalf of the Centre I would like to thank the Morgan Motor Company and their associates organising the events for a fantastic time. It certainly was a worthy way of celebrating one hundred years of our favourite car. Certainly, when the lovely Natasha Marsh announced she was beside herself with excitement, I can tell you I felt the same.   At the Uxbridge auto show I had an immensely enjoyable time. The team had cleverly lined up all the Morgans in age order, from the earliest three wheeler through to a Centenary Plus 4, an Aeromax and my Centenary Lightweight. It made for an impressive display. I experienced three pleasant surprises on the day: the first one was that I discovered that there are two Mike Smiths in the world; secondly I was briskly over taken by Heidi Miller in her Plus 4 during the display run and lastly, most importantly, the Thames Valley stand, at the show, won

  I am pleased to say that on Saturday 8th August we shall be enjoying a scenic drive to the Bentley Drivers Club 60th Anniversary Race Event at Silverstone. Please meet 08:30 at The Bird In Hand, Knowl Hill (A4 near Maidenhead) for a 08:45 start. We will aim to arrive in time to watch the end of practice and see the parade laps of the Bentleys on the circuit before the racing starts. The big event for us, coming up this month, is the Uxbridge auto show. We attend this marvellous event every year- something for everyone -  but this year Mike Smith and his team has gathered together, along with our regulars, an interesting array of Morgans through the ages. Our stand will be depicting a celebration of the Morgan Centenary. It is always a great day out, however, this year it will be especially so. If you would like to attend please contact Mike for details, space is limited but it is still worth a try at this late stage.

Chatting to Jerry Tanner recently he mentioned a notion "Bring a Morgan to a noggin." Now Jerry always brings his Plus Eight to noggins, so his record is exemplary. However, he does wear a warming beard. Nevertheless, you can't argue with his sentiments; we must all try harder and with the warmer months coming it should prove easier. We do have a busy month ahead of us. Don't forget that we have a day out with the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club at their facilities near Sonning.
