Drive it Day 2025

For this year we arranged to go to the Kennet and Avon Pumping station at Crofton where there is a nice pair of working 19th Century beam engines.  The trust operating the beam engines had a steaming day on that day and an offer for half price entry for "classic" car drivers.  10 cars signed up for the trip.  Those starting near the Hart and Magpies gathered there and set of together, everyone else arrived independently.  One or two went on to Wilton windmill which is itself well worth a visit.  Not operating at the moment while it waits for

After the record temperatures on Friday, this Sunday turned out just right, not too hot, some blue skies, and a few clouds with a very gentle breeze. Unlike the British Open Golf tournament at Troon. (Billy Connolly once said there are only two seasons in Scotland: June and winter !!!  ) I apologise I digress.   We were 23 in total and as the weather was so nice we all sat outside. Kew Steam Museum

Mini Factory Tour

On Wednesday 18th. April the Thames Valley Centre visited The Mini Plant at Oxford. On an unusually dry and sunny day, 23 members in 12 cars gathered in the car park at the Mini Plant. I had secured tickets for tours at 9:30 and 9:50. There is a small museum area in the visitors centre. After locking away our mobile phones, donning hi-vis tabards and safety glasses we watched the obligatory H&S video before starting our tour in the ‘body-in-white’ plant. RAF Odiham 2023 part 2

The RAF Odiham Freinds and Families day got off to a very wet start this year.  83 Morgans had signed up to attend from a number of local centres but a significant number were put off by the weather.  In the end 49 turned up creditable enough! The weather cleared up late in the morning but low cloud persisted so the flying display was substantially curtailed.
